About Me
Hi, my name is Jake Czerniak, and I am a senior at Plainfield East High School in Illinois. I am a competitive golfer with a strong passion for the game, and my goal is to continue playing golf at the collegiate level.
I have worked extremely hard over the past five years to develop both my swing and my mental game. Last high school season, I averaged 37.6 for nine-hole matches and finished 6th in my conference out of approximately 130 players. I started this season with a 68 (-3) and a 69 (-2) in my first two 18-hole invitationals, finishing 1st and 2nd individually while our team won both events. I also won three IJGA events this summer, giving me four tournament wins in 2026. Not every tournament went the way I wanted, but those rounds taught me how to stay focused, keep fighting, and limit the damage when I don't have my best game.
One of the things I value most about high school golf is being part of a team. My teammates and coaches have become like a second family to me, and I enjoy competing together, supporting each other, and being around people who push me to get better. Finding that same sense of community is very important to me when looking for a college golf program.
Academically, I try to take the same approach to school that I do to golf. I challenge myself with the classes I take, and getting A's is important to me. I have a 3.95 unweighted GPA, a 4.63 weighted GPA, and will have completed five AP classes by graduation. I am excited to keep improving both on the course and in the classroom and to find a college where I can contribute to the team and continue developing my game.
